When are you open?
Our school is open for classes 6 days a week. Our office is open for enquiries and enrolments Monday – Friday 9am – 5.30pm and Saturday 9am – 5pm.

How many students are there per class?
We have a maximum of 6-8 students per class, one of the smallest tutor-to-student ratios in the industry.
ENROLMENT AND COURSE FEES
How do I enrol for a course?
Once you have decided which course you would like to book and read our Terms and Conditions, you can either enrol online or call us on +44 (0) 207 993 8101. You will be required to make a 20% deposit (or full payment) at the time of enrolment to secure your place. You will then be emailed confirmation details, along with an initial assessment link which completes your enrolment. The remaining fees are due a 14 days before the course commencement date via bank transfer or card. We have payment plans available for some of our longer courses, please Contact Us for more details.
Do I pay VAT on the course price?
All courses include 20% VAT.
What is the minimum age to enrol onto a course?
You must be 16 or over to enrol.
Are there any loans available?
Some of our courses are eligible for a Professional and Career Development Loan, details available here.

Can I enrol if I am an international student?
We welcome international students! Unfortunately we do not participate in the visa process. For visa information please see the link here. We can provide confirmation letters once we have received a deposit payment for your course.
What are the fees for international students?
The fees and enrolment process is the same for all students.
Who will be teaching my course?
All of our tutors have years of experience and are commercially active in the industry. Please visit our Meet the Team page to view our tutor profiles.
Do I need to bring anything with me?
No, we have everything available at the school for you to complete your course. You are welcome to bring a pen and note pad if you wish to take notes during your course.
Do I need to wear anything specific?
No, please feel free to wear what you like as long as it does not restrict your movement.
What brands do you use during the course?
We use a range professional makeup brands including MAC, Illamasqua, Bobbi Brown, NARS, Laura Mercier, Make Up For Ever, Shu Uemura.
Do I need to bring my own model?
No, we book in all models for you. We are the only school in the industry which provides models for you to work on. This means you do not spend your time being a model for another student.
Can I study part time?
We have part time options for some of our courses, for the rest we can arrange flexible day/evening/weekend classes Contact Us to enquire.
I don’t have any formal training, can I enrol onto the Intermediate/Advanced courses?
This depends on your individual skills, please email us some examples of your work along with the course you wish to enrol onto and we will get back to you.
Will I receive a certificate?
Yes, you will receive a certificate from the London Makeup School. For our qualification courses, you will also receive an ITEC accreditation certificate.
Am I ready to work within the makeup industry on completion?
Upon successful completion of any course you will receive full certification which will allow you to go and find work within the industry.
Do you help with finding work after the course?
We get contacted by hundreds of brands every year requesting our students and graduates. Our graduates have worked with many prestigious clients and brands including Virgin, Dior, French Connection, the Galvin Brothers restaurant chain, Toni and Guy, Shangri La, N2O Brand Activation, Burberry, Sony, GHD, Royal and Langnickel, Space NK, Rentez-Vous, Boots, BAFTA, National Film and Television School and IMATS (International Makeup Artist Trade Show) and London Fashion Week. Students can Sign Up to our Agency which provides them with opportunities. Our Bronze, Silver, Gold and Platinum package students receive a free lifetime membership as part of their package.
Can I get insurance on completion of my course?
Insurance is available to purchase from a number of different insurance providers (details of which are located on our Aftercare and Discounts page). We strongly advise students check eligibility, terms and conditions before booking a course as we accept no responsibility if students are refused insurance due to any circumstances.
I want to be a model for student haircuts and colours, how do I apply?
I want to be a model for paid makeup or hair styling, how do I apply?
When the appointment/opportunity says “styling” does it include cutting?
No, any styling opportunities do not include any cutting.
Do I need to have an allergy/patch test?
Yes, you will need to come in for an allergy test at least 48 hours before an appointment. Allergy/patch tests can be done anytime Monday-Saturday between 9am and 5pm and the test takes around 10 minutes to complete.
What level of experience do the students have who will be doing my haircut/colour?
It varies appointment to appointment, but all students are supervised by our qualified tutors in small classes of 6 maximum.
Why are the appointments so cheap?
Appointments are carried out by our trainee students at our Academy as practice during their course before beginning work in the industry. We offer haircuts/colours at a discounted rate as appointments will be longer than a normal salon appointment. Our model price list is available here. You should expect to spend around 3-4 hours at the Academy for haircuts and 5+ hours for colours.
What happens if something goes wrong with my haircut/colour?
On the rare occasion that you are not happy with your new haircut/colour, please notify the tutor supervising the student immediately. Alternatively please contact our model team who will be happy to help.
